I am so proud to be a part of Zwink Elementary for 4 years now. I’ve worked for Klein I.S.D. for 20 years in all areas and grade levels as a teacher’s assistant, clinic assistant, library assistant, and front office secretary. I really enjoy helping students to learn. Three times, my coworkers have honored me by voting me “Paraprofessional of the Year”. My own daughter and son have gone all through Klein from kindergarten through high school. I started as a volunteer, mother reader, room mom, PTO Treasurer and PTO Vice President. When I can I really enjoy reading novels, movies, and traveling, especially to see my two grandsons. It’s going to be another awesome year at Zwink!

I am absolutely delighted to be a part of the Zwink team as the assistant principal! I have been in education for over ten years, serving in many districts across the country. As a graduate of Klein ISD, I am pleased to now be a part of what makes this district so successful. I began my teaching career as a seventh and eighth grade teacher in Spring Branch ISD after earning my degree at Sam Houston State, and continued to teach in Georgia and New York. I then served as the librarian at Blackshear elementary for the past four years, working with teachers on research and literacy to gain the Professional Support Staff Member of the Year and a grant from the Klein Education Foundation to use video conferencing as a research method for elementary students. Additionally, I worked the last three summers on the Reading Express, bringing Klein students an opportunity to read over the summer. When I am not aiding students in finding the perfect book, or teaming up with teachers for research, I am playing slow-pitch softball or curled up with an excellent book of my own to read. I enjoy watching movies and playing with my two rescue dogs, River and Chewy. My desire is to serve the learning community of Zwink in any way possible, and I eagerly await the opportunity to do so.

Hi there, Zebras! I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach at Zwink Elementary as a third grade teacher. Why do I have an outrageous number of hats? To inspire children to read and express themselves in writing, I use hats of all shapes and sizes to encourage creativity. Since children are visual creatures, I dress up to ignite a love of reading where my students can become as obsessed as I am about books. I love watching students open themselves like pages in a book and become alive in their learning. So, after receiving my education degree at Quincy University, I hopped down to Texas where sixteen years of teaching in Kindergarten through Third Grade continues to be a fun-filled experience. I'm excited to begin my third year at Zwink and continue adding to my collection of hats! I am truly thrilled to be a part of Zwink Elementary and look forward to the students who will make this year exceptional.

My husband and I moved here only 3 years ago and we are still having a great time getting to know the city. When I’m not at school, I enjoy baking, crafting, traveling and finding new, delicious restaurants to try. I look forward to this school year and my new chapter as a Zwink Zebra!

I am so excited to start the new school year and see all of our new and returning Zebras! I am originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and graduated from Memorial University with a Master of Educational Psychology/Counseling Psychology.
